Credits/Thanks : See section below. ------Play Information----------------------------------------------- Counter-Strike : Hostage Rescue - 32 starts defined. There are 4 hostages in total, held in pairs in different locations. The hostage rescue zone is the concrete slab on the beach. Notes: I started making this map a long time ago using elements of the sequel to my HL map pack Edge of Darkness which I had abandoned. In adapting it to Counter-Strike I was inspired partially by my favourite CS map - militia. Although I worked on cs_malibu on and off for some time I never really got round to finishing it. This version is not really a finished one as some areas totally lack detail and the r_speeds remain too high for most people's set-ups. I've played the map myself many times using PODBot and so I have included in this pack the PODBot waypoints file that I created for this purpose. There are a few problems trying to use bots on this map but overall it's quite possible to have fun with this. I DO NOT intend to put a lot of effort into finishing this map so please don't write to me to tell me I should change this or change that. It is not a perfect map and probably never will be. On the other hand, if you find a serious bug please let me know and I may think about releasing a new beta verison. ------Credits/Thanks------------------------------------------------ I created many of the custom textures used in this map myself but I did use some great textures created by other people and sometimes used elements extracted from other people's textures :- Tropical sky :- Tropical Island by aIX (from Wadfather site). Roof tiles - The Ecclesiastical Wad by Evile Dick (from Wadfather). Stained Glass - Stained Glass Wad also by Evile Dick. Brickwork around beach door - based on tex from Evile Dick's Building.wad Pool Water textures + grass from Golgotha pack (Wadfather). Leather couch textures from JoeSmoe WAD pack (Counter-Map). Hanging ivy texture from itsitaly.wad (CS). Ivy textures used on walls based on /extracted from cs_bdog.wad (CS). cliff textures partially based on MegaMike's Cliffes from his MegaMikeDeus2 WAD pack (Counter-Map) ------Map Information------------------------------------------------ New Textures : Various. Place the map, "cs_malibu.bsp" and the text file 'cs_malibu.txt' in your half-life/cstrike/maps directory. The 'cs_malibu*.tga' files must go in cstrike/gfx/env. The 'cs_malibu.bmp' and associated 'cs_malibu.txt' file must go in cstrike/overviews.
